Korea-Denmark Summit (September 2019)
President Moon Jae-in and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen held a summit on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly at New York's Hudson Yards. With 2019 marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between their two nations, both leaders agreed to boost cooperation for Seoul to successfully host the second Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) summit next year.
Korea-US Summit (September 2019)
President Moon Jae-in and U.S. President Donald Trump on Sept. 23 held a summit in New York in which they reaffirmed that their bilateral alliance is the linchpin of peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia that remains "totally unshakable." They also shared a positive assessment of North Korea's recent declaration of its willingness to resume dialogue with the U.S.
Korea-Poland Summit (September 2019)
President Moon Jae-in and Polish President Andrzej Duda on Sept. 23 held a summit at United Nations headquarters in New York. With this year marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between their countries, both leaders agreed to boost economic cooperation and increase the number of people-to-people exchanges.
Korea-Laos Summit (September 2019)
President Moon Jae-in and Lao President Bounnhang Vorachith on Sept. 5 held a summit at the Presidential Palace in the Lao capital of Vientiane on bilateral cooperation and collaboration in the development of the Mekong River area.
After their summit, the two leaders attended a signing ceremony of four memorandums of understanding on the Economic Development Cooperation Fund, agriculture, information and communications technology, and cooperation in startups.
Korea-Myanmar Summit (September 2019)
President Moon Jae-in on Sept. 3 held a bilateral summit with Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi at the presidential palace in the Southeast Asian nation's capital of Naypyidaw.
They agreed to develop friendly cooperative relations a step further for prosperity in both countries and signed an intergovernmental accord and five interagency agreement after the summit.
Korea-Thailand Summit (September 2019)
President Moon Jae-in arrived on Sept. 2 in Thailand, the first leg of his three-nation Southeast Asian tour, and held a summit with Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha on enhancing bilateral ties and Korea's relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The two leaders ratified memorandums of understanding on cooperation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and agreed to form a joint working group to augment cooperation in new industries.
Korea-Ethiopia Summit (August 2019)
President Moon Jae-in on Aug. 26 held a bilateral summit at Cheong Wa Dae with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.
Both leaders discussed bilateral ties and consular affairs and agreed to form a ministerial joint committee and boost cooperation.
Korea-Israel Summit (July 2019)
President Moon Jae-in on July 15 held a summit with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin at Cheong Wa Dae.
The two leaders discussed the early ratification of a bilateral free trade agreement and boosting cooperation in the high-tech industry.
Korea-US Summit (June 2019)
President Moon Jae-in and U.S. President Donald Trump on June 30 held a summit at Cheong Wa Dae on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and improvement of bilateral ties. After their summit and a news conference, both leaders headed to the Demilitarized Zone.
Korea-Russia Summit (June 2019)
President Moon Jae-in and Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 29 held a bilateral summit at INTEX Osaka in Japan.
The two leaders discussed the peace process on the Korean Peninsula and agreed to strengthen cooperation in various fields.
